This Caldera LTD is from a batch of Canare-wood and Zebra wood that I've collected recently.
Canare-wood struck my eye the first time I saw it in Owl hardwoods a few years back here in Illinois. From a distance it looks yellow, but up close the grains intertwine with burnt orange, umber, maroon, peet, and the gamut of colors in between. It's striking. Then after I bought some, machined and finished it, I found that the texture of the wood is buttery and delightful. I'm excited to have come across a vibrant batch with beautiful colors for this run! I've finished these bad boys with a "sunrise" burst from deep red edges to the natural wood color on top.
Zebra wood I've always found to be inconsistent. Come on man - do you want to have those sharp Zebra stripes or not!? Anyways, this batch was hand-picked for us by my best wood guy, and it's striking. The largest gradient from light to dark I've seen in Zebra wood. I've added a light aged tint to it to bring out the texture, light curl, and tone of the wood and it just looks so natural and bold. I love it.
Both of these woods are exotic, and may contain aberrations, twisting grain, and will all be uniquely different. Knots, twists, resin marks, branch marks, and other wood oddities or beautifiers will be present. We only include natural markings innate to each species within A stock builds.
All sets are finished with a hard UV cure finish for maximum beauty and durability.
Zebra Sets include a coffee gold grille and rods, burnt umber textured grille cloth, and either black aluminum or Dark Amber Magnesium Chassis, and a brown BBB strap.
Canare Sets include a lightly aged copper grille and rods, maroon grille cloth, and either black aluminum or Black Magnesium Chassis, and a ruby BBB strap.
