Non-Returnable Items
Items discounted from the list price in any way are not returnable or refundable. This includes:

Pre-orders

Demos
-
Show discounts

Bundle or release discounts

Any discounted non-headphone items
Headphone Returns & Cancellations
Stock Wood Headphones

Returnable/Cancellable: Stock wood models purchased at full price are eligible for cancellation or return.

Extended Trial Period: For purchases made beginning April 18, 2025, you now have 30 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return. This means you need to notify us, provide return tracking, and have the package accepted by the shipping carrier within the 30-day window. Returns shipped after this period may not be eligible for refund.

Flat Return Fee: A reduced flat 10% restocking fee applies to all returns or cancellations of eligible stock headphones (including accessories and cables). There are no longer separate transaction or processing fees assessed on returns.

Shipping Costs: The customer is responsible for all return shipping, and any shipping charges incurred by ZMF will be deducted from your return refund, including if your order qualifies for free shipping at the time of purchase.
- Our trial period stands to foster confidence in your ZMF order, not to serve as a demo program. Because our headphones are meticulously handcrafted and carefully QC’ed for every order, we can only allow 1 headphone return within a 30-day period, and no more than 3 headphone returns per year. Going beyond this threshold will flag your account which may limit or end your ability to order from us in the future.
Limited Edition & Discounted Headphones

Final Sale: All Limited Edition (LTD) headphones and headphones purchased with any discount are final sale and non-returnable.

LTD models are clearly marked on their product pages.

Order Cancellations

You may cancel an eligible order within 48 hours of purchase with no restocking fee; you will only be responsible for any transaction fees, which will be deducted from your refund. For accessory-only orders, cancellations are allowed up until the order ships.

After 48 hours, only the 10% restocking fee applies to eligible stock headphones and other eligible items.

Discounted, LTD, pre-built, or one-off headphones are non-cancellable and non-refundable.
Refused Shipments

If a shipment is refused, any shipping costs and transaction fees incurred will be deducted from your refund. Refunds will be processed once all related charges are settled and the shipment is received by ZMF.

Refusal does not exempt items from return restrictions—LTD and discounted items remain final sale.
Product Condition Requirements

All returns must be in original, like-new condition with:

No signs of wear, tampering, or modification

All original accessories (cables, cards, pads, etc.)

A fee will be assessed at ZMF’s discretion if returned items are incomplete or show signs of use.

ZMF is not responsible for items lost in return shipping.
Pads & Accessories

A-la-carte earpads are non-returnable once shipped.
-
If the order has not shipped, earpads may be cancelled/refunded.
DACs and AMPs
- All Amps and Dacs and ZMF amps may be returned within 14 days of delivery of the item. As with other items, the restocking fee on all amps is 10% of the purchase price and shipping will not be refunded.
- If the amp or dac was bought in a bundle or at a discount (lower than the advertised non-sale list price on the website), the amp or dac is not returnable or cancellable.
- All amps and dacs must be received in the condition sent, with all accessories and packaging or an additional fee may be accessed at the discrepancy of ZMFheadphones.
Damaged Items

If your headphone arrives damaged or with a suspected defect, or if your order is incorrect, notify us within 5 days of receipt. We will assist with a return, exchange or troubleshooting.

As we stand by the quality of our headphones, we will waive any final sale policies and cover shipping or other fees on a case-by-case basis when you contact us within the 5-day timeframe.

After 5 days, all issues will be considered wear or user-related unless otherwise covered by warranty. See Warranty Policies for further details.
Upgrades

All headphone upgrades are final sale and non-returnable.

If the original headphone was purchased from ZMF, your warranty renews from the upgrade date.
Order Transfers

You may transfer an unshipped order to another customer. ZMF will:

only update the shipping address (not facilitate the transaction)

allow no spec changes, except for the stock cable
-
provide purchase verification upon request

ZMF products are custom and handmade-to-order and therefore any discrepancies between the ordered product and the assumed product by the customer are not the responsibility of ZMF.
