The iDAP-8 is a revelation - in that it brings all the functionality of an Android System, a top quality streamer, and any Android app you can think of to your desktop with top quality hardware and usability. The old iDAP was hard to use and worked in very specific ways, this new unit is leagues easier to use, as if you are versed in smartphone use, the iDAP-8 will feel at home off the bat.
Further - you can use local files and I've tested it extensively with Roon, and it does that beautifully. So forget about Raspberry Pi based systems, IMHO this is the way to go. Couple it with the other iHA amp or DAC - and you're all set - literally!
