What began as a modded T50RP for my brother in 2011 became a journey through sound — from tuning by hand to designing my own planar magnetic driver from the ground up. The Caldera is the culmination of over a decade of passion, experimentation, and relentless pursuit of the perfect planar. With a punchy yet airy presentation, intricate detail, and musicality at its core, the Caldera is the most refined headphone I’ve ever created.

For this limited edition, we’re featuring the Caldera in Katalox — a rare, exotic hardwood known for its deep cordovan glow and richly contrasting grain. Often considered a darker cousin to Purpleheart, Katalox blends violet undertones with ruby browns and midnight restlessness, creating a surface that shifts and shimmers depending on the light. Its natural luster and density give it both visual drama and sonic presence.

Tonally, Katalox brings a hint of extra control and solidity to the Caldera’s already expansive sound. Expect a touch more weight in the bass, slightly smoother transients, and a grounded feel that pairs beautifully with the Caldera’s signature spaciousness and layering.
