Auteur Pads: Top & Inside Perf (Happy Accident Batch)
These were never supposed to exist. A run of Auteur Pads came back perforated on the top and the inside wall. When we put them on the bench, they turned out to be a really good pad. We’ve never offered the Auteur Pad this way before, and we may not again. Our mistake is your bounty.
The Sound
It’s the same perforation as the Mod House Tungsten pads. That gives a gentle slope from 20 Hz down to around 1–2 kHz, so the lower bass fills out with a nice lift without getting thick. It also raises the primary peak a little and usually smooths out the treble. The sweet spot for most listeners sits around 2.2–3.2 kHz. If your headphone’s peak lands lower than you’d like, these pads bring it up toward that range. Think of them as a tuning tool: a great match for planars, and well worth trying on many dynamic headphones, depending on what you’re after.
The Build
Same 111mm diameter as our Eikon Pads, with a larger ear opening. Inside is 6lb Visco foam under premium lambskin, for a soft, luxurious seal and the right amount of cushion. The flexible outer sleeve fits most large round headphones. Sold in pairs.
Add Adhesive Ring Adapters to use them on Audeze models with adhesive pad installation. Two pairs of rings come with your add-on order.
