Cayin, much like ZMF, makes amplifiers at different price levels that aren't necessarily "better" or "worse" than each other. Between the HA-3A, 6A and 300B, each amp has unique capabilities that make it special. Upon listening, the thing that strikes me about the 3A is an extended, delicate listening experience, with liquid smooth tube mids and a surprising weight and impact to the bass that really shook me and makes me completely love this amp.

Maybe the perfect footprint for a desk setup, the 3A has really shocked me with a different sound from the 6A and 300B. There's a cleanliness that sets it apart from its larger siblings, but it has the perfect amount of tube "bloom" and a tightness to the bass and presentation that has really kept me engaged. Possibly the best value in a tube amp on the market today; I highly recommend trying one.

As a note, this IS a transformer based amp, and will drive dynamics and planars equally well with authority unless your headphones are under 90dB/mW sensitivity.
