The iDAP-8 is a revelation, in that it brings all the functionality of an Android system, a top quality streamer, and any Android app you can think of to your desktop with top quality hardware and usability. The old iDAP was hard to use and worked in very specific ways; this new unit is leagues easier to use, and if you are versed in smartphone use, the iDAP-8 will feel at home right off the bat.

Further, you can use local files, and I've tested it extensively with Roon, which it handles beautifully. So forget about Raspberry Pi based systems; IMHO this is the way to go. Couple it with the iHA amp or iDAC and you're all set, literally!
