The new IHA-8 offers an extreme value for solid state amps. I often said about the IHA-6 that you couldn't do better unless you went above 2K, which the IHA-6 I would extend that value even further, as the raw power, finesse and Class-A pure resolve makes this an insane value, and will drive literally any headphone on the market, even the Tungsten with ease. In Hyper mode, it STILL has 1.4 watts at 300 ohms!
Oh and yes - I think the Hyper mode sounds best, but caution, the amp heats up with the sonic perfection!
